Coach Information

Mar 13, 2010

1.  If you are playing games at Crestview Elementary, North Layton Jr.
High, Central Davis Jr. High, Layton Elementary, EG King Elementary,
Mt. View Elementary or Ellison and you need to reschedule, you MUST
contact Carol LaDamus to request a game time.  You need to let her
know what your age division is and where you normally play--let her
know you are with AYSO.  You need to give her 2 suggestions of game
times and days (that work with BOTH coaches--make sure you contact and
work this out with the other coach before you contact Carol).  She
needs at least 24-48 hours to get back to you.  We only reserve fields
for Saturday games.  Competition soccer uses it during the week and
after we are done on Saturdays.  Please be respectful if you show up
to practice and there is a comp game going on.  You can contact Carol
via e-mail at   law5@abcs-utah.com for the game reschedules that are
needed.

2.  Please remind your parents and players to pick up ALL of their
trash. PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT.

3.  Soccer balls that may be kicked up onto the roof of a school, are
generally only collected once a week.  Please do not demand or bother
the schools over and over to get your soccer ball.  They will get them
when they can.

4.  School bathrooms are NOT public bathrooms after school hours.
They do NOT want people coming in to use the bathrooms.  Please remind
your players to use the bathroom before coming to practice or games.

If you are unable to find a referee, please call or e-mail Mike Blake -- BEFORE Saturday Morning.  Mike starts refereeing by 8:00 a.m. and is gone most of the day.  The more notice you give him, the better chance he will have at getting a referee.  Mike's e-mail is:  mike-sheryl @ comcast.net

Coach Safe Haven Certification

The Safe Haven Certification Program was developed by AYSO to provide protection for the children and volunteers in AYSO.  The volunteer Protection Act of 1997 was passed by congress to promote volunteerism.  This law grants immunity from certain types of prosecution for volunteers who meet its requirements. The course is 2 hours long and only needs to be taken once by a coach or volunteer. Every volunteer needs to take this course.

For those coaches who have not yet taken their Safe Haven class they need to complete the course online by using the following link - Online Safe Haven.
